The Company

Herrljunga Terrazzo AB is a deeply rooted new company.

The precast factory Herrljunga Cementgjuteri was founded in 1929. This company began manufacturing terrazzo products such as fireplace floor protectors and threads and risers.

In 1963 Strängbetong purchased Herrljunga Cementgjuteri. Strängbetong is Sweden’s leading manufacturer of pre-stressed concrete elements (columns, beams, slabs).

The Herrljunga factory continues to prefabricate terrazzo stair flights, terrazzo wall claddings and sandwich elements etc. In spring 2002, however, Strängbetong decided to “outsource” non-central divisions of the company, among them its terrazzo contracting branch.

The new terrazzo floor installations taking place all over the country, are now managed by Herrljunga Terrazzo AB, since April 2002.

The manufacturing works with poured terrazzo (cast in situ on the building sites) are run the same way as before, but in a separate company, retaining its close co-operation with Strängbetong.

The new company is owned and managed by Anders Lundell, an engineer with 14 years of terrazzo experience from Strängbetong. Already from the birth of the company Herrljunga Terrazzo is the firm in Sweden with the biggest capacity and know-how within the terrazzo field.

The projection of the company contains a direction towards a retained and strengthened concentration on quality, based on the craftsmanship and experiences of the skilled workers.

The order situation is reassuring for the near future. Herrljunga Terrazzo, with its 15-20 men, can undertake terrazzo contracts throughout the country.

Apart from the terrazzo undertakings Herrljunga Terrazzo also offer erection service including threads and risers, spiral or straight stair flights and other customized installations of precast elements outdoors, or indoors in new or existing buildings.

Due to many years of experience in counselling architects, project planners, artists, contractors and owners of buildings, problem solving is one of the strengths of the company.

Advising project planners, the developing of new color concepts, cost calculations at early stages in the planning process and the making of tenders, supporting the contractors all belong to the daily business. To this we add the possibility to have installation support by means of a skilled erection guide helping with complicated installations. He then arrives at the building site with due equipment.
